We read with great interest of the article ‘‘Clinical outcomes of medial patellofemoral
ligament reconstruction using FiberTape and knotless SwiveLock anchors” by Sasaki
et al. [

]. The authors investigated the clinical outcomes of medial patellofemoral ligament
(MPFL) reconstruction using polyester high-strength suture tape with knotless anchors
[

]. This interesting and meaningful study demonstrated that reconstruction of the MPFL
with suture tape augmentation maybe a valuable alternative for restoration of patella
stability, without requiring harvesting autologous tendon grafts. We agree with them
that suture tape is efficient in treating lateral patella instability especially in
helping promoting the speed of returning to sports activities which has similar effect
as artificial ligament in ACL (Anterior Crucial Ligament) reconstruction. However,
there are some issues need to be concerned.Abbreviations:
